In 2010, approximately 7 million people were employed in the industry and manufacturing sector in Germany according to the Federal Statistical Office. A large number of employees and employers spend their working time fully or partly in workshops, foundries, production halls or warehouses. The contamination and heating of the air caused by the work is a growing problem in this industry.
